In the Romantic ballet “Giselle”, the main character falls in love but is betrayed, and dies of grief. She is reincarnated as a forest Wili, joining a group of betrayed maidens who take their revenge by dancing their lovers to their deaths. The beautiful yet chilling nature is abstractly represented in this title sequence by a hazy blend of greys and through which a distressed figure can be seen, referencing the misty forest in which the ballet takes place. The typography also falls like flowers in the wind, referencing another key symbol of the ballet.
